Grey Hearts “Unstitched”

Producer - Noah M. Dorsey & Jordan Powers

Director - Jordan Powers & Noah M. Dorsey

Grey Hearts Unstitched is a limited documentary series that follows the journey of the first collection for Grey Hearts Denim, created by co-owner/co-founder/creator, John Paul Reyes. Highlighting the struggles of our current climate in 2020, we follow this group of entrepreneurs as they not only survive the limitations and maintain success in their business but achieve their passion for creating a brand and a community.

Documentary Synopsis

Grey Hearts Denim set out to accomplish something Kelowna has never seen before. Launching a clothing line with a full fashion show. With many moving parts and multiple pieces in the capsule, this was no small feat. Documentaries are always unpredictable, and this project was no different. We were in the thick of COVID-19 when we started filming, which made difficulties in a magnitude of ways. Due to restrictions, we had to change the release from Summer 2020 to Fall 2020, week by week it was different and we had to ride the wave of change and complexity. I am grateful for my partner in this project, Jordan Powers, as we were able to cover more ground and stay on top of the fast changes. Creating five episodes of a branded documentary on a slim budget is challenging enough, let alone during a pandemic. We really pulled it all together, jumped over the hurdles, and created something the Okanagan hasn’t seen before.
